The ending is awful. I was stunned by how abruptly it ended. The story is good but the book dragged. I found myself skipping forward.

A frustrating read.

This book was so well written. The characters so well drawn. So many layers….I couldn’t put it down and can’t stop think about the possibilities and paths.

Excellent read. Couldn’t put this book down although the ending was disappointing. It left this reader unfulfilled.

Loved the author's embrace of three points of view, as he got inside the heads of his three main characters, showing how they wrestled with very consequential decisions about the trajectory of their lives. This love triangle was totally believable. Didn't love the facile ending with no resolution, not even a clear hint about what Jim might ultimately decide. The two female characters were more satisfying with their complexities contributing to a satisfying ending no matter what Jim decided... but he wouldn't or couldn't decide...

Author should’ve left the story alone at the end of Brooklyn. The new novel Long Island is disappointing on every level.

Such a great follow up to Brooklyn. I can’t wait for the next one (fingers crossed).

Felt like wasted time….my time, the people in the book’s time.
