Honestly very underwhelmed by this book. Enjoyed the first book, but I don’t think I’ll be reading the 3rd book after this. Truly felt so repetitive and just plain boring. I’m not even a writer, and I feel like I could’ve come up with a better plot. Do not recommend.

I’m obsessed with this series! I don’t know if I can wait until next April for the 3rd!

Very repetitive, a lot of cat and mouse going on in this book. I understand the reason for it and why it was expanded for a lot of book because it was a major part of the plot in the trials interrelations of their complicated love, however, it was a little frustrating to get through at some points. You can only repeat yourself so many times before it’s painfullly cringe. I do love the storyline and the banter. Huge plot twist at the end with a major cliffhanger.

some of the plot just felt rushed and i feel like i had to work to get through it. this book didn’t hold my attention, but the tension between kai and paedyn. the ending was amazing (i actually threw my book across the room) but there was no foreshadowing that i could see, nor was there anything from kitt’s POV that would make that happen. great book…but not my favorite!

Loved this book!! It was a little repetitive but I finished it in a little over 24 hours. Cannot wait for the next one!

I enjoy this story and the characters so much, however this book was very slow to get through and lacked a lot. It seemed like a lot of stuff could’ve been cut out, and I would’ve loved to have more of Kitt’s POV, because the ending is just flew out of nowhere. This book had a lot of the usual tropes that I could’ve been without and kinda repetitive with no addition to the story.
  • Plot gave me whiplash; so repetitive

I wish this book did the first one justice, but it seemed super repetitive and the flow of some of the scenes didn’t really make sense (kind of disjointed).
  • Very drawn out

Very drawn out and very little plot development. The whole book could’ve easily been two or three chapters. Ending was a plot twist but not in a well developed way, it felt very rushed and very random.
  • Not as good as the first

The timeline on this second book felt rushed; made the storyline a bit unbelievable. The angst and plots twists were still there making it a quick read and enticing you to turn the page. An enjoyable read just not quite up to par with the first.
  • I feel very let down.

Honestly, what a complete disappointment following the first book. Firstly, enemies to lovers—completely lost at this point. The book’s attempt at making this work is having either Paedyn or Kai tell the other they hate them and they want to kill them, REPEATEDLY. This basically became their entire personalities for the whole book. There was no tension, no angst, no real emotion that had me wanting to keep going. Kai became insufferable and incredibly contradictory. His father was brutal, forcing him to be a killer with no emotion, no will to question why or become his own person. Instead of finding freedom in his death, he sought vengeance? Okay. Kitt’s chapters felt entirely pointless. I would have rather watched paint dry for 24 hours than read the small inserts that broke from the already nonexistent plot. Kitt has zero personality in this book and the display of grief felt very unauthentic. As someone who has lost 6 people in the last 6 years, I had no feeling of connection to this aspect of his character. If he is going to be represented in this book, he needs to have some way of connecting to the audience. There were a lot of quotes that were unbelievably cringy on every character’s end. The ending felt rushed, the plot was so lost and it just did not fit. The triangle set up will not work and honestly, love triangles are so incredibly over done and dull.
