A Midsummer’s Nightmare?

Robin Goodfellow. Puck. Summer Court prankster, King Oberon’s right hand, bane of many a faery queen’s existence, and secret friend to Prince Ash of the Winter Court. Until one girl’s death came between them, and another girl stole both their hearts.

Now Ash has granted one favor too many, and someone’s come to collect, forcing the prince to a place he cannot go without Puck’s help - into the heart of the Summer Court. And Puck faces the ultimate choice: betray Ash and possibly win the girl they both love, or help his former friend turned bitter enemy pull off a deception that no true faery prankster could possibly resist.

This is a short novella between 'The Iron Queen' and 'The Iron Knight'. It follows Ash and Puck on a small adventure as they try to make up for some favors they owe others (and they make a ton of them in every book so it was a fun way to see how much effort it takes to complete one of these.) Since reading the third book, it was nice to see Ash return to some semblance of normalcy. It means that book 3 didn't totally break him. I also liked the narration from Pucks POV; he is usually so goofy and guarded so the reader is rarely gifted with a glimpse of his inner thoughts.

I read the first book not known if I would like it or not, but I loved it. She is a great writer and I get engulfed in her books. They are so convincing it seems real and makes sense. I know it's fantasy but it seems real and that's what fantasy writers do to make it fantasy. She definitely makes it real. I am so excited to download and read it. I have read the first second and third and I am waiting for the Iron Knight to come out! This series is a must read and I have no doubt that this book is the same.
