It has been said it could never happen in the US. Well, it is well on its way, not even 100 years later.

OMG! This is a harrowing & suspenseful page turner about a young Jewish prisoner made slave maid to the Herr Huber family in Berlin during the early 1940s! He is a high ranking SS Officer‼️😱. It is beautifully & sensitively written by Marion Kummerow & I highly recommend it for your next choice of a WWII-genre novel! The author’s mix of historical data & fictional characters makes it all seem as though you are right there in Berlin & Paris living amidst the horror of WWII ‼️ After an RAF bomb falls on the Huber house, Margarete is the only one to survive & to save her own life assumes the identity of Annegret, their spoiled & cruel daughter! After being rescued from the rubble by a soldier, she fleeS the city with Anne’s ID papers! Tortured by fright of discovery, Margarete/Anne moves several times & ends up in Paris! She eventually meets Wilhelm Huber, son of the dead family & an SS Officer! Grab your copy of A Light in the Window & hang on to your seat as Margarete jumps around the many twists & turns in her fight to survive while surrounded by the enemies of her people! Ms Kummerow deserves my 5-star rating & just know you’ll agree‼️ 👏👍. Carol R. Florida

It’s 1941 and World War II is raging on and Margarete Rosenbaum is working as a housemaid for a senior Nazi officer. When the house she is working in gets bombed, she is the only survivor. Margarete is mistaken for the officer’s daughter, and she sees it as her opportunity to finally be free. But, when her former employer’s son, Willhem Huber tracks her down he keeps her identity a secret. He wants her to move to Paris with him as his sister. He will go to great lengths to protect her. Wow, this story was so unbelievably amazing, that I almost don’t know what to say. I was so amazed by the endurance, risks and courage people will do to change a life. To protect the one you love and make it through one of the most difficult times in history, is so well written in this story, it will have you flying through the pages unable to stop until the very end. This unforgettable must read, is one that will definitely stick with you long after you finish reading it. This book absolutely needs to be on the top of your to be read pile. Thank you Marion Kummerow for another emotional and wonderfully written story. The characters were relatable and I highly recommend this book, it was absolutely amazing.
